Kieran President Leads St. Lucia Tennis Team at the 2025 Davis Cup Americas Group IV

🇱🇨 Team Saint Lucia Returns to Davis Cup

St. Lucia has officially opened its campaign at the Davis Cup Americas Group IV tournament, hosted at the National Racquet Centre in Tacarigua, Trinidad and Tobago. The event runs from August 4–9, 2025, bringing together ten nations from across the Caribbean and Central America to compete for promotion to Group III.

Leading the St. Lucian charge is Kieran President, who serves as the team's non-playing captain,guiding a talented group of players determined to make a statement on the regional stage;  alongside Team Manager Trevor Hunte ensuring that the players are supported both on and off the court.

The 2025 Davis Cup team for St. Lucia includes:

  • Akeem Gustave
  • Maxx William
  • Kevin Deligny
  • Jordan Hunte

This group brings together power, speed, and mental grit. With a balance of singles and doubles strength, they aim to challenge every opponent they face in the group stage.

 Leadership & Support

Kieran President, while not competing on court, plays a vital role as team captain, making strategic decisions, preparing lineups, and providing guidance and motivation throughout the tournament. His focus has been on fostering team chemistry, improving tactical awareness, and ensuring the squad is mentally and physically prepared for each tie. 

Trevor Hunte, as team manager, handles logistics, coordination, and athlete welfare, ensuring that every detail, from travel to training, runs smoothly. His experience is vital in keeping the team focussed and ready. 

 Group Stage Challenge

St. Lucia has been placed in Pool A, alongside:

  • Guatemala
  • United States Virgin Islands (USVI)
  • Haiti
  • Trinidad & Tobago (host)

Only the top two teams from each group advance to the playoff round for a chance to be promoted to Group III. St. Lucia's group is competitive, but the team is eager to rise to the challenge. With Kieran President managing on and off-court strategy, the team enters each match with confidence and clarity.
