02/13/2026

The Saint Lucia National Independence Tennis Tournament officially serves off today, marking an exciting milestone as the event celebrates its 15th consecutive year at the National Tennis Centre in Beausejour, Gros Islet. The tournament runs from February 13 to 18 as part of Saint Lucia's Independence celebrations.

This year's competition features a wide range of categories, including Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, and Under-16 divisions, along with Open Men's and Open Women's events, providing opportunities for both junior and senior athletes to showcase their talent on court.

Adding an exciting regional element to the tournament, the association is pleased to welcome a visiting delegation from the Guadeloupe Tennis Federation. The team, consisting of 13 athletes across multiple age categories, has joined the celebrations, giving local players valuable exposure to diverse playing styles and strong competitive experience.

Matches in the tournament will also count toward national ranking points, raising the stakes as athletes compete not only for titles, but also for valuable positioning within the national rankings.

The Saint Lucia Tennis Association also extends sincere appreciation to its valued sponsors whose support continues to make the event possible. Special thanks are expressed to St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) for its longstanding commitment, having sponsored the tournament throughout its 15-year history and for its continued investment in youth development, sport, and community advancement.

The Association also gratefully acknowledges the support of Blue Waters Inc. and Glass Experts for providing essential assistance that has helped ensure the successful delivery of this year's tournament.

The public is warmly invited to come out and support the nation's athletes as they give their best on court in celebration of independence, national pride, and the continued growth of tennis in Saint Lucia.
