Juniors stnadouts Sanjay Lake, Denney Estava and Alhil Cyril break through to the main draw, proving they're ready for the big stage.

The Saint Lucia Davis Cup hopefuls delivered a spectacular showcase of talent and determination this past weekend at the National Tennis Centre, with intense battles marking the journey to final team selections.

The event began with Maxx William, setting the tone with dominant wins. He defeated Denney Estava and Arden Rosemond in identical straight sets, 6-1, 6-0 showcasing precision, consistency, and power.

Sirsean Arlain followed suit with an impeccable display, overpowering Alhil Cyril 6-3, 6-0, and Darrion Roberts 6-0, 6-3, proving his experience and court awareness.

Then came McColin Fontenelle bringing years of experience to the court. The veteran player secured victories over two promising juniors, defeating Sanjay Lake 6-3 6-1 and Petterson George 6-2 6-1.

Kevin Deligny delivered one of the most resilient performances of the day. After trailing Akeem Gustave 1-4 in the second set, Deligny mounted a comeback to win the match 6-3, 6-4. He went on to defeat Ronaldo St Juste in convincing fashion, 6-0, 6-1, placing his name firmly among the top four competitors.

Still, the juniors refused to be overshadowed. Akeem Gustave, Denney Estava, Alhil Cyril, and Sanjay Lake fought valiantly through the draw, each securing wins to claim their spots in the main draw. Gustave bounced back with a 6-3, 6-4 win over St Juste. Estava overcame Rosemond 6-3, 6-4. Cyril triumphed over Roberts in three sets: 3-6, 6-4, 6-0. Lake edged out Peterson George in a nail-biting 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 victory.

With the depth of talent on display—ranging from seasoned veterans to emerging juniors—Saint Lucia's Davis Cup lineup is shaping up with exciting promise. The competition is fierce, the energy electric, and the standard of tennis a testament to the nation's growing prowess in the sport.

As the final team selection nears, one thing is certain: the future of Saint Lucian tennis is in strong, capable hands.
